ChatGPT Space Launches Shared Agent Workspaces
OpenAI launched ChatGPT Space, a persistent workspace where teams can co-edit pages, share files, and collaborate with ChatGPT, Codex, and Dots. It is available on Pro, Business, and Enterprise plans.
Space is OpenAI’s clearest move yet to turn ChatGPT from an assistant into a team operating layer, combining shared context with embedded agents. Its promise is compelling, but permissions, rollout limits, and agent reliability will determine whether it replaces existing work hubs or becomes another tab.
- –Shared pages let teammates and agents work from the same evolving context
- –Integrations with Slack, Microsoft Teams, files, and connected apps make workflows more actionable
- –Dots can update shared pages as projects change, extending automation beyond one-off chat prompts
- –The product directly targets workflows owned by Notion, Google Drive, Slack, and Microsoft 365
- –Collaborative slides and spreadsheets are still coming soon, leaving the broader office-suite pitch unfinished
