Dreambase launches Skills for Supabase agents
Dreambase's new Skills layer packages data sources, business logic, and visualization rules into reusable units for Supabase agents. The company says onboarding can scan a database and prefill Skills automatically, with CLI, API, and MCP support coming next.
This looks less like a dashboard feature and more like a semantic layer for agentic analytics. If Dreambase keeps the skill definitions current, it could solve one of the hardest problems in data AI: getting agents to understand business context without constant prompt babysitting.
- –Reusable Skills turn schema context, metrics logic, and chart rules into a single asset instead of scattering that logic across prompts and dashboards
- –Auto-scanning Supabase on onboarding lowers setup friction and makes the product feel opinionated rather than configurable for its own sake
- –CLI, API, and MCP plans matter because they let other agents consume the same context layer, which is where this starts to become infrastructure
- –The bet is strong for accuracy and speed, but the failure mode is stale business logic if teams don’t keep Skills maintained
- –Compared with generic BI wrappers, this is more about codifying how a company reasons about data than just visualizing rows
