Kestrix Brings Change-Aware DAGs to CI
Kestrix is a repo-agnostic CI/CD control plane that defines HCL pipelines as dependency-aware DAGs. It skips tasks when their trigger repositories have not changed, while providing live logs and outbound-only remote runners.
Kestrix tackles a real polyrepo pain point: wasted builds caused by coarse-grained CI triggers. Its self-hosted architecture is compelling, though adopting HCL and operating another control plane adds meaningful platform overhead.
- –Change-aware triggers can reduce redundant builds across multi-repository systems
- –DAG execution makes cross-service dependencies easier to visualize and manage
- –React Flow live logs improve operational visibility during complex runs
- –Outbound-only runners simplify firewall and network security requirements
- –The smaller ecosystem and PolyForm Noncommercial license may limit commercial adoption
