Floci 2.4.0 expands AWS service fidelity
Floci 2.4.0 broadens AWS emulation with Cloud Map-backed API Gateway VPC links, expanded CloudFormation coverage, Cognito MFA and federation, RDS lifecycle features, and Redshift improvements. The October 31 release also adds DynamoDB and Lambda performance optimizations.
This is a serious compatibility release for teams replacing cloud-account dependencies with fast, local infrastructure. Its AI relevance is indirect but meaningful: Bedrock and AgentCore paths receive fixes while the broader AWS surface becomes more reliable for testing agent-backed applications.
- –API Gateway V2 can now route VPC link integrations to Cloud Map service instances, improving local microservice testing.
- –CloudFormation gains support for Prefix Lists, WAFv2 IP sets, SES resources, AppConfig types, S3 Vectors, and more.
- –DynamoDB now queries only the requested partition and avoids unnecessary table copies, improving developer-loop and CI performance.
- –Cognito, RDS, Redshift, S3, Step Functions, and Auto Scaling all receive parity improvements that reduce mock-versus-production drift.
- –Floci’s free, MIT-licensed, no-token model remains a strong alternative to LocalStack for local-first and AI infrastructure workflows.
