Petdex launches Codex pet gallery
Petdex is a public, open-source gallery of animated pixel pets for the Codex CLI. It packages 99+ user-submitted companions with previews, states, and installable entries so people can browse the catalog and add a pet to their setup with a single command.
Cute, but also genuinely useful as a lightweight distribution layer for Codex customizations.
- –Turns a novelty feature into a shareable ecosystem with browsing, sorting, and install flow.
- –The product is clearly aimed at Codex users, so the audience is narrow but highly aligned.
- –Open-source and community-submitted content makes it feel more like a living catalog than a one-off demo.
- –The “install with one command” angle is the real hook; the aesthetic is the wrapper.
