Claude Code resets faulty usage limits
Anthropic says a June 19 bug showed incorrect weekly limits for roughly 3% of Claude Code Max and Pro users, blocking some from sending messages. The company says the bug is fixed and affected users are getting both 5-hour and weekly limits reset.
This is a small incident by percentage, but a loud one because Claude Code users treat quota predictability as core infrastructure, not account decoration.
- –The affected cohort is only about 3%, but Pro and Max users are exactly the paying developer audience most likely to notice broken limits immediately
- –Resetting both 5-hour and weekly limits is the right remediation, since lockouts can derail active coding sessions and planned work windows
- –The timing is sensitive because Claude Code usage limits have already been a recurring complaint among heavy users
- –For AI coding tools, quota UX is now part of product reliability: incorrect meters are almost as damaging as downtime
