Vercel Labs releases Herdr Vercel Sandbox plugin
Vercel Labs announced a new plugin, `vercel-labs/herdr-vercel-sandbox-plugin`, that integrates the Herdr multi-agent terminal multiplexer with Vercel Sandbox runtime environments. Developers can now spawn, monitor, and manage multiple autonomous AI coding agents concurrently in a local Herdr interface while maintaining secure filesystem and process isolation for each agent in Vercel Sandboxes.
Running multiple autonomous AI coding agents directly on a local machine creates security vulnerabilities and resource contention, making cloud sandboxing a crucial infrastructure component for agentic workflows.
- –Prevents rogue or untrusted agent-generated code from compromising local host environments.
- –Enhances agent scalability by offloading compute to isolated Vercel Sandbox micro-containers.
- –Strengthens Vercel's ecosystem presence as a primary backend provider for agentic development tooling.
