Hermes Agent 0.23.0 unifies desktop, chats, gateways
Hermes Agent v0.23.0, “The Hearth Release,” brings its desktop workspace to browser tabs while unifying CLI, desktop, and messaging conversations through one gateway. It also adds automatic group-chat routing, `/rewind`, paid-tool spending limits, and performance improvements.
Hermes is evolving from a terminal-first agent into a self-hosted agent operating system. The strongest part of this release is its focus on coherence: one runtime, one conversation history, and safer controls for increasingly autonomous workflows.
- –Browser-based Desktop makes Hermes accessible from phones, tablets, and remote machines without splitting the underlying agent state.
- –One gateway across CLI, Desktop, browser, and messaging reduces fragmented sessions and duplicated context.
- –Automatic group-chat routing turns Bot Mode into a practical multi-agent collaboration layer.
- –`/rewind` provides a recovery path when an agent takes a conversation in the wrong direction, complementing Hermes’s persistent session model.
- –Spending limits are an important operational safeguard as agents gain access to paid models, search, browsing, and other metered tools.
