tsc-ts 0.1.2 speeds native TypeScript checks
Vercel Labs’ experimental TypeScript 7.0.2 compiler port ships faster checker paths and optimized native profiles for macOS and Windows. Its project-aware tuning aims to find better settings for each machine and codebase; release notes are available at https://github.com/vercel-labs/tsc-ts/releases/tag/v0.1.2.
tsc-ts is a promising compiler experiment, but v0.1.2 is an optimization step—not proof that it is ready to replace tsc everywhere.
- –Release benchmarks report 0.9–1.2% faster Linux checks across nine projects, with larger gains on T3 Code and VS Code.
- –Two-phase profiling extends optimized native builds to macOS and Windows.
- –The compatible `tsc --api` server makes tsc-ts relevant to compiler tooling and build systems.
- –Its experimental status means teams should benchmark full CI and build workflows before switching.
