Doop brings agents onto live design canvas
Doop is an open-source, self-hostable multiplayer design canvas where humans and AI agents collaborate on live HTML frames through a built-in MCP server. Agents stream designs in real time, expose their status, accept feedback, and review screenshots before handing work back.
Doop’s sharpest idea is making agents observable collaborators instead of invisible prompt-response utilities.
- –MCP connectivity lets Claude Code, Codex, and other clients edit the same canvas as humans.
- –Sandboxed HTML frames create a developer-friendly bridge between design prototypes and production UI code.
- –Live streaming, presence, task history, comments, and screenshots provide a useful feedback loop for agent accountability.
- –Self-hosting and AGPL licensing offer control, but teams will still need to manage authentication, Postgres, Chromium rendering, and deployment.
- –The project’s real test will be whether multiple agents can maintain coherent visual systems without turning the canvas into a race condition.
