ByteDance debuts controllable Seedance 2.5
ByteDance announced Seedance 2.5, a major upgrade to its video-generation pipeline currently in global enterprise beta. The model introduces native 30-second outputs, up to 50 multimodal reference inputs for precise workflow control, and a built-in AI copyright platform for licensed IP remixing.
By adding 50 multimodal references and a legal IP template system, ByteDance is shifting the AI video race from generating pretty aesthetic clips to building a controllable, commercial media pipeline.
- –Workflow control over prompt roulette: Supporting up to 50 reference assets (character sheets, props, lighting) turns prompt engineering into a directable, constraint-driven creative brief.
- –3D previsualization blocking: The addition of 3D white-model (greybox) previews allows creators to block camera paths and compositions before committing generation tokens, reducing iteration costs.
- –Productizing instead of ignoring copyright: Following previous IP disputes with Hollywood studios, the concurrent launch of an AI copyright commercialization platform turns rights-protected templates into monetizable, licensed remix assets.
- –Native 30-second duration: Direct 30-second output reduces the continuity errors (character, costume, and lighting drift) that typically accumulate when stitching shorter 5-second clips.
