PandaCode Enables Remote Agent Runs
PandaCode lets developers run coding-agent tasks on another signed-in computer while viewing streamed output, approvals, and responses locally. The open-source feature uses end-to-end encrypted relay traffic and supports up to 10 devices for free.
PandaCode is evolving from a local desktop shell into a distributed execution layer for coding agents.
- –Remote tasks behave like ordinary local sessions, including streaming, model selection, approvals, and steering.
- –The relay forwards encrypted frames without storing task content, using X25519 and XChaCha20-Poly1305.
- –GitHub device-flow authentication and opt-in remote control keep network access disabled until explicitly enabled.
- –Developers can repurpose idle machines for heavier or platform-specific work without exposing source code to a hosted control plane.
- –The main caveat is maturity: users still bring their own coding-agent subscriptions, and mobile access is not available yet.
