OutSystems MCP Gives Agents Live App Context
OutSystems MCP connects Claude Code, Cursor, Kiro, and GitHub Copilot to OutSystems Developer Cloud, giving agents access to application architecture, Mentor builds, deployments, logs, and traces. It inherits existing OutSystems permissions and is available in Personal Edition.
OutSystems is turning its low-code platform into an agent-accessible application control plane, addressing the biggest weakness of coding agents: they can read source but rarely understand the live system. The governance layer makes this more credible for enterprise workflows, though it also keeps developers inside OutSystems’ platform boundaries.
- –Live architecture and dependency context should reduce wasted tokens and brittle generated changes
- –Mentor delegation lets agents operate at the platform’s abstraction level instead of forcing them to imitate low-level implementation
- –Permission inheritance, deployment controls, and auditability make agent-driven changes more viable for regulated teams
- –Logs and traces give agents a feedback loop for debugging deployed applications, not just editing code
- –The main limitation is platform dependence: the value is highest for teams already committed to OutSystems and ODC
