Cloudflare adds Pruna media suite
Cloudflare’s AI model catalog now lists Pruna’s image and video models across generation, editing, upscaling, try-on, avatar, animation, and video replacement workflows. The update gives AI Gateway users another third-party media model family behind Cloudflare’s routing, observability, caching, and rate-limit layer.
This is less about one flashy model and more about Cloudflare turning AI Gateway into a practical model supermarket for production apps.
- –Pruna’s suite covers high-demand creative endpoints: text-to-image, image editing, upscaling, virtual try-on, text-to-video, image-to-video, avatars, animation, and replacement.
- –For developers already using Cloudflare, adding media generation behind the same gateway reduces integration sprawl versus wiring every provider separately.
- –Pruna’s positioning is speed and cost optimization, which matters because media generation workflows can become expensive fast at scale.
- –The tradeoff is abstraction risk: teams still need to evaluate output quality, latency, provider terms, and billing behavior before treating Gateway availability as production readiness.
- –Cloudflare keeps expanding AI Gateway beyond LLM routing into multimodal inference infrastructure, which makes it more relevant to app builders shipping AI-native creative features.
