Oligarchy Independently Catches Bugs in Neovim
ThePrimeagen says Oligarchy, his agent-driven QA harness for Omarchy, is independently finding and confirming bugs in Neovim. The system uses QEMU sessions, simulated input, screenshots, and outcome logging to test real desktop workflows.
This is a stronger agentic QA demo than another scripted browser test: the harness is producing useful findings outside its home project.
- –QEMU isolation lets agents test full desktop behavior without risking the host system
- –Keyboard, mouse, and screenshot-driven checks cover failures traditional unit tests miss
- –Independent confirmation makes the findings more credible than one-off AI-generated bug claims
- –The real test is reproducibility: maintainers still need deterministic steps and minimal cases
- –If generalized, this could turn agents into always-on exploratory testers for complex developer tools
