Factory Brings Droid Agents to Teams
Factory now lets developers mention @Factory in Microsoft Teams channels to delegate repository tasks. Droid executes the work remotely, posts progress in-thread, and exposes a stop control for intervention; see https://docs.factory.com/delegations for setup details.
Factory is turning AI coding agents into embedded teammates inside existing collaboration workflows, extending beyond IDEs and terminals. The tradeoff is that convenience makes permissions, repository access, and review policies even more important.
- –Teams joins Factory’s existing Slack, Linear, and Jira delegation surfaces.
- –Shared service-account identity, connectors, repository access, and administrator approval are required for setup.
- –Droid runs on remote compute while Teams becomes the request and status layer.
- –A stop button adds a useful safety valve, but does not replace tests, code review, or merge controls.
- –Factory’s broader multi-surface strategy makes it a stronger enterprise competitor to standalone coding agents.
