Kornia Brings Differentiable Vision to PyTorch
Kornia is an open-source PyTorch library offering 1,200+ differentiable computer-vision operators for geometry, filtering, augmentation, feature matching, and pretrained models. Its tensor-native design keeps vision pipelines batched, GPU-ready, and compatible with autograd.
Kornia fills a critical gap between OpenCV’s breadth and PyTorch’s training loop, making classical vision programmable as part of end-to-end models.
- –Differentiable geometry enables optimization of poses, camera parameters, homographies, and depth
- –GPU-batched operators reduce NumPy, PIL, and CPU round trips in training pipelines
- –Broad coverage includes morphology, color transforms, local features, RANSAC, and annotated augmentation
- –`torch.compile` and ONNX support make the library more practical for deployment
- –OpenCV and torchvision remain better fits for simple single-image or CPU workloads
