Tao Browser Launches Private Spaces for Founders
Tao Browser gives each company, client, or project its own cookies, logins, tabs, and storage in a private Mac workspace. The free beta includes Arc import, tracker blocking, Touch ID locks, and an optional AI page panel using your own API key.
Tao’s strongest idea is operational separation, not AI: it treats browser identity as infrastructure for founders juggling multiple businesses. The privacy posture is compelling, but the Mac-first beta, missing passkeys, limited extensions, and no sync keep it from replacing mainstream browsers for many teams.
- –Separate spaces prevent accidental cross-account actions across Gmail, GitHub, Stripe, and other business tools
- –Native WebKit, local storage, Keychain passwords, no telemetry, and built-in blocking make privacy a core product decision
- –Arc import gives Tao a timely migration hook as Arc users look for a successor
- –The AI panel and local agent bridge add useful workflow acceleration without making AI the browser’s central identity
- –No cross-device sync and incomplete extension support are meaningful adoption barriers for power users
