Claude doubles 5-hour limits, weekly unchanged
Anthropic says it is doubling Claude Code's five-hour rate limits for Pro, Max, Team, and seat-based Enterprise plans while removing peak-hour throttling for Pro and Max. Weekly caps still apply, so heavy users can burn through the same overall budget faster.
This is a real throughput win for bursty work, but it is not a full quota reset. Larger five-hour buckets reduce mid-task interruptions and make long sessions feel smoother, while removing peak-hour penalties matters for teams coding during business hours. The unchanged weekly cap is still the real bottleneck for heavy users, so the extra session capacity mostly changes when they run out, not how much they get overall. The move looks like capacity relief rather than a pricing change, since Anthropic is pairing the limit increase with additional compute supply.
