x64dbg MCP Server Brings Agents Into Debugger
x64dbg-MCP Server is an open-source Zig plugin that exposes x64dbg through MCP, letting compatible agents load binaries, set breakpoints, inspect memory and registers, trace execution, and dump modules. It turns a Windows GUI debugger into a programmable reverse-engineering surface.
This is one of the more convincing MCP applications because agents gain a stateful, event-driven debugger rather than a thin command wrapper. The tradeoff is that full debugger control demands serious isolation and network hygiene.
- –Exposes dozens of tools spanning breakpoints, stepping, disassembly, memory, threads, PE analysis, tracing, and module dumping
- –Native Zig implementation supports x32 and x64 without .NET, Python, or an external runtime
- –Event callbacks and blocking execution tools give agents feedback while targets run, enabling multi-step investigations
- –Write-memory, process-attach, and arbitrary debugger-command capabilities make this powerful for authorized security research but risky on exposed systems
- –Mandatory bearer authentication addresses earlier unauthenticated-control issues, but users should still update and keep the HTTP endpoint tightly scoped
