Rex Reveals Windows Client Ahead of Testing
Superlogical is preparing external testing for a pre-alpha Windows client of Rex, its terminal app and multiplexer. The build extends Rex’s persistent sessions, remote connections, and agent-focused workflow beyond its Mac-first beta.
This is a meaningful expansion for Rex: Windows support puts its polished, session-centric terminal experience in front of a much larger developer audience. The pre-alpha label matters, but the product’s cross-device architecture makes it more ambitious than another terminal emulator.
- –Persistent sessions can keep terminals, coding agents, and background work alive across reconnects
- –Windows support broadens Rex’s challenge to tmux, Zellij, Windows Terminal, and AI-oriented terminal tools
- –Native agent status and scripting could make multi-agent development easier to monitor and orchestrate
- –Rex remains free, accountless, and self-hostable, lowering adoption friction for individual developers and teams
