SperidLabs Idol brings 3D splats to fal
Idol is now available through fal, turning a single photo, render, or generated image into a 3D Gaussian splat in roughly 10 seconds. Developers can tune density from 32K to 1M Gaussians and export `.ply` splats plus `.glb` previews.
Idol makes single-image 3D asset generation practical for rapid prototyping, though its unseen geometry remains an informed guess rather than true reconstruction.
- –fal availability removes much of the setup friction around local NVIDIA inference.
- –Adjustable Gaussian density creates a useful quality-versus-file-size tradeoff.
- –`.ply` and `.glb` exports fit existing visualization and creative workflows.
- –The model’s strongest use cases are turntable previews, concept assets, product visualization, and spatial-AI experiments.
- –Developers should validate occluded surfaces carefully before using outputs in production scenes.
