GPT-6 Rosalind launches for life-science research
OpenAI is rolling out GPT-6 Rosalind Research for multistep biology, drug-discovery, and translational-medicine workflows. Access is limited to approved research customers in Work, Codex, and the API, and it is not available in the Chat tab.
GPT-6 Rosalind is less a new base model than a tightly controlled scientific deployment of GPT-6 capabilities.
- –Uses the same weights as GPT-6 Astra, with no additional training or post-training for this release. [Safety card](https://deploymentsafety.openai.com/gpt-rosalind-6)
- –Adds specialized tool-driven workflows for genomics, protein analysis, medicinal chemistry, literature synthesis, and experiment planning. [OpenAI research overview](https://help.openai.com/en/articles/20001193-gpt-rosalind-for-life-sciences-research)
- –Trusted-access approval, least-privilege controls, monitoring, and qualified human review reflect the model’s elevated biological-risk profile.
- –Developers can access it through API model ID `gpt-6-rosalind`, priced at $15 per million input tokens and $75 per million output tokens. [OpenAI pricing](https://developers.openai.com/api/docs/pricing)
